MapBiz: Satellite Imaging Firm Awarded Contract Extension

The satellite imaging firm, Space Imaging has been been awarded a $24 million contract extension from the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency to provide the agency with satellite imagery for the next year. The images will come from Space Imaging's IKONOS satellite. This is an extension of a contract Space Imaging won back in 2003.

Based near Denver, Colorado, the privately held firm provides satellite imagery to businesses, governments and individuals. Its IKONOS satellite was the world's first commercial high-resolution imaging satellite.
